Government has always driven innovation far more than it generally gets credit for. Mariana Mazzucato has highlighted this a lot in her work. One sector we see this particularly strongly is the space sector. Inspired governments have driven innovation and created local space champions for many decades by leveraging the power of being an anchor customer to draw in private risk capital. I am convinced that the future will be like the past here.
