A huge success for the D-Orbit team as it launched its latest Satellite Carrier (ION SCV-9) on the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket yesterday, January 31st, 2023, at 8:15 a.m. PT (16:15 UTC), from the Space Launch Complex at Vandenberg Space Force Base, California. This mission was the second launch for D-Orbit this year alone and the first in a mid-inclination orbit. SpaceX's Falcon 9 Rocket launched 49 Starlink satellites and D-Orbit's Electric Elena to Low Earth Orbit (LEO).
This is the first time D-Orbit has flown from Vandenberg. Customers include Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company (EBAD), HPS High-Performance Space Structure Systems GmbH, the EPFL Spacecraft Team, and StardustMe.
